How to adopt:

1. Fill out an adoption application.  Please fill out the application completely, as I will not accept incomplete applications or "I don't know" answers.
2. Contact us to let us know you filled out an application and to follow up if it has been approved.  Let us know if you are either ready to adopt now or want to be added to a Paid Waitlist.
3. Once babies are available they will be posted on our Facebook page on first come, first serve basis (If you don't have access to Facebook, let me know and I can share pictures other ways).  If you are on our Priority Waitlist, you get first pick, which I will message you about privately.  (Please get back to us within 24 hours about your pick.)
4. Non-Refundable Deposits are required to reserve rats.  Deposits are HALF of the total adoption fee.  The rest is due before or at pick up.  Your rats will not be handed over until your fee is paid. Deposits and Payments can be paid through Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal.  
5. Please review and complete the ADOPTON AGREEMENT at some point BEFORE picking up your rats. 

PRIORITY WAITLIST:

The priority Waitlist option is NOT required to adopt from us.  This is only an OPTION to guarantee a pick or claim first picks from specific litters(especially if you are wanting a certain color/variety). There is a $15 fee for the priority waitlist.  This is NON REFUNDABLE. This is NOT part of the adoption fee.  This is a separate fee which gives you priority to pick before the public and to get prioritized updates and communication from the breeder.  You will still need to pay a deposit and/or your total adoption fee, once you choose your babies. 

If I present litters/babies to you that you are not interested in/would like to wait for a different variety, you CAN roll over to another litter or waitlist. If you are picking, please make your decision within 24 hours.  If no decision or communication is made, I will move into the next person on the list.  The Priority Waitlist fee is good for ONE year after it is paid! Please keep in communication with me so that I can match you with the right litter.

Little Whiskers Rattery has the right to cancel adoption and/or exchange the rat(s) due to temperament, health, or ability to improve our breeding. We also reserve the right to deny applications and adoptions at any time if we feel the situation is not right.

• Please review our ADOPTION AGREEMENT as this explains our policies, Health Guarantee, and Liability.  Please also review our info page on this site (and other suggested rattery sites), as they have a lot of information about how to care for rats.
• Adoption Agreement needs to be reviewed and signed before you pick up your rats. If you would like a copy(Paper or Email), please notify breeder.
• Deposits are Non-refundable (With the exclusion of if something would happen to the rats while still in breeders care/at breeders fault). No rats will be held without a deposit.  
• Rats must be picked up within 12 days of reserving, otherwise there will be a "Extra Care" fee for each additional week after. This fee is $15 per pair, per extra week. This fee is to compensate for extra care, food, bedding, and space.
• If you are no longer able to care for your rats, please contact us first.
• As a reminder, we do not let anyone into our rattery to avoid contamination and to protect our stock.  When the time comes to pick up your rats, we will arrange a date, time, and place.  Please keep in contact about pick up dates/time and try to be punctual!
